On September 1st, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Rybak visited the Donbas National Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture on the occasion of the Knowledge Day.
Greeting students and lecturers on the occasion of the holiday, Volodymyr Rybak expressed satisfaction with the fact that for the more than 60 years of work 20 thousands of highly qualified specialists, real masters of almost all civil engineering professions have graduated the Academy. It has opened the way to scientific world for 30 Doctors of Science and 250 Candidates of Science and remains the only higher educational establishment of Ukraine that has successfully passed the procedure of professional international accreditation, having become a member of the Association of European Civil Engineering Faculties.
“Large-scale plans regarding establishment of modern economy and modernization of the Ukrainian society outlined by the President of Ukraine require, first of all, systemic improvement in training of highly qualified personnel, including in the sphere of civil engineering and architecture,” stressed Volodymyr Rybak, adding that this Academy “is among the leaders on reforming the system of higher education, the leaders who manage combine educational process and manufacturing practice”.
Having stressed “the increasing role of human knowledge nowadays”, the Chairman of the Parliament wished students “get ready for the on-going studying and persistent self-education and to build not only buildings, but also our own country, as well as new life for themselves, their children and our people in general”.
